The Amiga Graphics Archive

Launched in 1985 the Commodore Amiga boasted graphics capabilities that were unsurpassed for it's time.
It featured an intricate collection of custom chips that enabled it to do things that, until then, had been impossible to achieve with other personal computers.

Robowarrior (1987)

Robowarrior, known in Japan as Bomber King (ボンバーキング Bonbā Kingu?), is an English language action/puzzle video game developed by Hudson Softand published by Jaleco for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the MSX.

Summary[edit]

Robowarrior takes place on an alien planet called Altile. The player operates a cyborg named ZED (Z-type Earth Defence). In the game, ZED raids Altile to fight the Xantho empire and destroy its leader, Xur. ZED deploys bombs to clear a path through rocks, walls, and forests, while killing enemies and collecting items. Some gameplay elements resemble those of Bomberman (1983).
Robowarrior comprises five level formats. In one, the player must obtain a key before the time limit expires. In another, the key is unavailable until the player acquires a crystal or chalice. Some levels are cast in darkness, rendering obstructions invisible unless the player has a lit lamp. Still other levels are mazes in which a player must find and blast-through weak points in walls to proceed. Periodically, a player engages a boss level.
Only in Japanese version, after player visits shop menu in the game, a new option will appear at the title screen called "Title Theme". Japanese text for lyrics was included:

1.緑の大地は はるかな夢
希望の光を その身に受けて
豊かなアルタイルを とり戻すまで
ゆく手をはばむ者は そは何者ぞ
傷ついた 制御コンピュータ
はるかに遠い 夢を抱きつつzz
GO for break out
GO for break out
GO for break out
GO for break out
ここはコリドー
駆け抜けろ 駆け破れ ナイト

Translation:
1. The green Earth is now a distant dream
But there is a glimmer of hope
To help restore Altile to its former beauty
Someone is here to face the enemy
The control computer is down
what a distant dream
GO for break out
GO for break out
This is the corridor
Run through it, Night!
2. The planet has lost all of its brightness
Light the last remnant of hope
A closed door deep inside the Earth
Reboot the system program
Revive the control computer
Restore color to Altile
GO for break out
GO for break out
This is the corridor
Run through it, Night!
The lyrics were also included in Japanese manual (In Japanese language).
The arranged version of the song can be found in Hudson Premium Audio Collection music CD, released in 2007. Both sung and instrumental versions are included.
